A Joyous Celebration of Learning: Seerah Competition 2024/1446

November 3, 2024

The Islamic Society of Michiana (ISM) Sunday School was filled with excitement and joy as students, parents, teachers, and volunteers came together for the Seerah Competition 2024/1446.

Alhamdulillah, more than 90 students participated in the event, showcasing their knowledge and creativity through speeches, artwork, nasheeds, and an engaging Kahoot competition.

Celebrating the Seerah

The competition was more than a showcase of talent. It was an opportunity for our young learners to deepen their understanding of the life and legacy of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and celebrate the lessons of the Seerah.

Students delivered inspiring speeches, while our younger participants proudly displayed their artwork. The event created an encouraging environment where every child had an opportunity to participate and feel celebrated.

Parents vs. Students Kahoot

One of the highlights of the day was the much-anticipated Parents vs. Students Kahoot Challenge.

Parents competed as “The Sun and The Moon,” while the students formed “The Stars.” The names were inspired by the dream of Prophet Yusuf (AS), adding a meaningful connection to the theme of the event.

The friendly competition brought plenty of excitement and laughter as parents and students put their Seerah knowledge to the test.

Celebrating Every Participant

The winning students were recognized with medals, gift cards, and goodie bags. Younger participants also received toys, games, and educational kits.

The goal was not simply to recognize the winners, but to encourage every child to continue learning and developing a love for Islam.

Community, Family & Fellowship

Parents played an important role throughout the event, supporting their children and celebrating their achievements. Teachers and volunteers also worked together to make the day meaningful and enjoyable for everyone.

The celebration concluded with an international potluck lunch, bringing families, students, and teachers together to share food from different cultures. The gathering reflected the diversity and unity of the ISM community.

The program began at 11:30 AM and concluded with Dhuhr prayer at 2:15 PM, bringing the celebration to a meaningful close.

A Day to Remember

ISM is committed to nurturing young Muslims through the Qur'an and Sunnah and creating a supportive environment where children can grow in faith, knowledge, and character.

Events such as the Seerah Competition provide opportunities for our children to learn, participate, build friendships, and strengthen their connection to Islam and their community.

We sincerely thank all the students, parents, teachers, and volunteers who contributed to making this event a success.

May Allah ﷻ bless our children with beneficial knowledge, wisdom, and a lasting love for Islam.

We look forward to many more opportunities to learn, grow, and celebrate together as a community.
